Front Page Construction

I began by opening a new file with my chosen photo and selected the brush tool.

I opened a new layer in order for me to change the colour of her hair to a purple colour as I thought this would make her look more 'indie' and suit the genre i had chosen.

I selected the purple I wanted and pressed 'OK'.

On my layers there was a box which allowed me to change the brush to a 'soft light' this would make the hair look more realistic and not fake.

I selected the brush tool once again and began clicking and dragging over her hair and it changed her hair to purple.

Finished changing hair colour.

I used the background layer again so that i could work on her face.

I selected the patch tool.

I selected an area of her forehead.

I dragged the area selected to a smooth area.

I released the area selected and the skin was smooth and clear.
Below I did this again over a new area of her forehead.

I now selected a new layer.

I now selected the brush tool.

Here I changed the brush size.

Changing the colour to a grey.

Here I have dragged the brush over the background in order to change the colour to a grey that will look more studio like.

Finished background changing.

Selecting a new layer.

Here I selected the rectangle tool.

I drew a box for my masthead.

I changed the colour to a red that i thought would look nice with my style.

Selecting the paint bucket tool in order to fill the box I created the red I had chosen.

Filled the box red.

New layer selected

Next I made all of my cover lines, I decided not to do a screen shot for each cover line as I did the same thing for each.
I opened a new layer for each cover line and used the text tool to create the text, I alternated between each cover line, I decided to make some red and some white to have a change of colours.
Once I had finished all of my cover lines, I picked out the more important words and made them bold so they stood out.
I also added my poster image by dragging the photo into my front cover and re-scaling it to the write size and slanting it.
