Q magazine is a rather neat magazine out of all the magazine's i have looked at. Its one letter masthead title is simple and plain. The red background against the white Q makes the white catch your attention. The flick on the Q suggests formality and elegance.
The strapline underneath says 'Discover Great Music'. This suggests the magazine is quite mysterious and you have to read it to find out what the magazine offers as the title does not give much away. Also the word 'Great' suggests it is the best and only the best music inside.
The main image on this issue of Q magazine is of Adele. This is one of my favourite photos out of all the front cover photos i have looked at. It is a great photo, the make up is so sophisticated, this is different to KERRANG! where most of the artists are heavily made up in make up. She has barely any make up on just eyeliner and eyeshadow slightly. This also implies the type of magazine genre it is, KERRANG! is a rock magazine and this is shown through the make up of the artist and the straplines. Q magazine focuses mainly on 'popular msuic' and this is different to rock therefore the decrease in make up and neat fonts compared to cracks and smashes.
The position she is in is different to because she is stood sideways on looking at the reader sideways suggesting they need to read her peronal business.
Normally most main photos dont touch their face with their hands however i think it works with this issue.
The strapline underneath her says "If you've got it, flaunt it..." this suggests she is a model and got the whole package with music and looks.
